Any student doing six shows throughout the 2008 show season will receive their end of year show haul for FREE!  Riders are encouraged to do as many horse shows as possible. Although we do not “Chase points,” we will not stand in your way if you choose to do so. We want all our riders to remember that horse showing is to be fun and we do it to have a good time. Riders are encouraged to learn how the divisions are set up, points are earned, courses are designed and how strides are measured. They are always learning while getting to do what they love. That is what riding is about. So come and join our team at Cedar Elm Stables and be a part of our big family.

BARN RULES: Appropriate dress - no bathing suit tops etc. No gossip, we do not gossip; these are our friends. We want to treat each other with respect. No jumping without an instructor, and hard hats must be worn. Throw trash away, but save cans. Do not borrow without permission. Put your name on all belongings, and lock your trunk. Pick up after your horse and yourself; make sure you leave the wash rack and tack areas clean and put your tack away. Do not leave halters, lead lines, longe whips, etc. on the ground. Sign a yearly release, so that we have all new phone numbers, etc. Update your horse’s insurance yearly. Owner must supply a leather halter and gray leg wraps and white quilts for hauling to shows and in the summer barn and show fan with name.  Riders must wrap their horses to travel home from shows.

All horses must have a sheet and a winter blanket; be sure to put a name tag on your blankets. Be sure to turn off all lights, and do not leave the arena lights on unless in use. Be sure to close the tack room door. Close the out side security fence if you are the last one to leave. Please DO NOT TEACH OVER THE INSTRUCTOR. you are paying for their years of teaching experience.

Stay away from the in gates at horse shows. If you have a problem please notify Paula or Kati we cannot fix what we don’t know about. Barn colors are gray & black. The barn opens at 7:a:m and closes at 10:p:m. Please, make sure you turn off all lights in the barns. The barn is closed on Mondays. REMEMBER THIS IS A HORSEMANSHIP BARN.

Cedar Elm Stables is located off Interstate 20 East of Mesquite in Forney, Texas. Cedar Elm is an easy drive from Dallas and has a full time barn staff providing 24 hour security with no barbed wire and an automatic fly spray system. Stalls are cleaned daily with clean shavings weekly.

Horses are very well cared for and fed twice daily, grain, electrolytes, and unlimited hay. Horses feet are picked upon return from pasture and are blanketed and un-blanketed according to the weather. All horses are on a de-worm program with spring and fall shots.

We have a shoer every Monday and there are three instructors and two full time trainers. CES does DHJSC, AHSA, AQHA and NTHJC shows.

CES has very nice school horses, horses for lease and horses for sale. Cedar Elm Stables is a very close knit barn with a very caring client base.
